La Gran Sabana region located southeast of the state of Bolivar in Venezuela, south of the Orinoco River and is fully occupied by the bulk of the Guianas, consisting of ancient rock concentrations generally metamorphic, formed by blocks of granite. Is a surface cut by numerous tributaries of the Caroni River, which formed rounded hills and steep tables surrounded by tabular surfaces which are called 'tepuis.
Emphasizes the Auyantepui, where the Angel Falls. The altitude varies between 700 and 1,400 meters. Even where the name of this space suggests the existence of a flat surface, the terrain is very rugged. West of the Gran Sabana align three plateaus.
