LOS ROQUES

After a short flight from Maiquetía or Porlamar are lands in the Gran Roque, to reach the archipelago our staff welcomes you and a briefing to our customers. Immediately embarks on one of our sailing catamarans for a tour of the spectacular archipelago. During the visit a day or two keys around the Gran Roque and will enjoy a fabulous beach of white sand and crystal clear waters. From there, those who so desire, will be transferred to one of the multicolored reefs surrounding cays, to undertake the activity of snorkeling. Then early in the afternoon lunch will be served on the catamaran. Then will be moved to another nearby cay to continue enjoying the wonders of the place. In the afternoon return to Gran Roque, where passengers who are on day tour will take the return flight and the passengers stay in their rooms will be given. 



                                                                   STAY 

 In the town of Gran Roque, LTA offers lodges with double, triple and quadruple rooms, with private bath and ceiling fan. During their stay, guests will sail on a catamaran sailing towards our various keys to explore the stunning scenery of the archipelago marine and submarine.

Posada VISTALMAR Located on the beach at the side of The Wharf restaurant and from its terrace you can enjoy the wonderful view of sunsets and thousands of seabirds, the inn is equipped with double, triple and quadruple, has 2 living rooms, entry hall and a large terrace overlooking the sea.

Posadas THE PLAZA AND THE PALMS Located on the Plaza Bolivar in the town of Gran Roque, has an architecture with a blend of Mediterranean and Colonial, this is where shared with the residents of the island.

You can buy souvenirs of the area in BOTUTO Boutique, which is located at the entrance to the inn Las Palmeras.

Posada Maccabi is the smallest guesthouse. It is located between the town square and the beach, near the Pier Restaurant. It has a small entry hall.

THE RECEPTION (inside the inn's Square in front of the Plaza Bolivar), the staff of LTA, which is located there, this trained to resolve their concerns. The hours of receipt is 6:00 AM. to 8:00 PM.
 
The office is located at the side of the inn's Square, here you can get the information you need and buy excursions to other destinations LTA to enjoy the special camps Selva (Gran Sabana). It's where you should go to make the check out at least 1 hour before your flight.

THE PIER restaurant. Located along the beach, very diverse food, served buffet style. Lobsters also can enjoy the season in November / April, the hours are from 7:30 AM. to 9:00 AM. and dinner 7:15 PM. to 8:30 PM. People who want a special menu must notify earlier, also the people who decide to remain on shore.

                                 NATIONAL PARK ARCHIPIELAGO LOS ROQUES

In the Caribbean Sea, 176 km. north of Caracas is located at Los Roques, one of the largest marine national parks in the Caribbean, with exceptional scenery of white sand, water games, warm and crystal and a vast wealth of natural resources.

The Los Roques Archipelago has an area of 221,120 hectares and consists of more than 300 islets, cays and sandbars, along with countless reef, forming a ring along a central lagoon of shallow water, occupied by mangroves and coral formations. The formation of the archipelago is due to coral growth on a rocky underwater plateau that began after the last glaciation. The island of Gran Roque is the only afloración of this plateau and there is established the permanent population of the archipelago since 1910. The inhabitants of Los Roques, about 1,500 are engaged in fishing of lobsters, snails and fish from our own tropical waters. They are beginning to work in public service activities and increasingly with the emerging tourism starts to visit the area.

Los Roques has been visited since the time of the pre and Caribbeans Indians after the discovery by Spaniards, Dutch, English and French, who came to this area in search of protection when there were storms at sea, fishing or removing salt.

The archipelago was declared National Park on August 9 1972 for their extraordinary natural resources and scenic. Thanks to this decree and the work of the National Parks Authority and the Single Area is guaranteed the preservation of ecosystems of the Park. The tourism activity is regulated and the number of visitors is limited. Were allowed only the construction of a limited number of inns located in the village, which must maintain the architectural typology typical of the coasts and islands east of the country.

DIVING PROGRAMS

The station diving ARRECIFE DIVER, located in the Gran Roque offers daily departures for divers to spectacular coral reefs of Los Roques.

SPORT FISHING
Los Roques is one of the world's most important sites for fishing for bonefish. Likewise, the fishing troleo and substance is abundant and varied (shark, carite, barracuda, petos-Wahoo, simple and snapper, among others). The exits are made in peñeros from Gran Roque.
